This weeks read at home tip!

Have you ever tried partner reading with a parent,
sibling or friend? ... at home?
One great way to partner read is to have the first reader read a page out loud, then the partner reads the next page out loud; you continue with this pattern, alternating readers.
It's fun, easy and a great way to spend 15 minutes with a family member or friend.
Enjoy sharing a good book, try partner reading this week!

Celebrating Different Cultures Around the World

Second grade students finished
their unit on world cultures with
an "Around The World Day".
Students played cultural games,
watched a video about Afghan
children, ate a cultural lunch cooked
by Alison, and participated in cultural
crafts in the afternoon. During this
unit, students were expected to be able to
compare and contrast their own culture
to characteristics of others from a
different culture.
