Crickets and plantains for lunch!

Today we had the pleasure of a visit with guest author, Jan Reynolds. She shared many stories about her travels and adventures around the globe. To celebrate and honor the food and cultures from all over the world, we were given a choice to eat plantains and crickets at lunch today. Jan encouraged students to try new things and take risks. One second grader said, 
" I did it! I ate a cricket and that's a risk because I've never eaten a cricket before!" Thank you Jan for inspiring us. We look forward to writing about our own future travels.

On Tuesday, 2/17, we will have a visit from 
guest author Jan Reynolds. She will be meeting with each class and teaching students about writing informational text, as well as sharing stories about her adventures while writing her books. You are welcome to come join us for any part of our guest author day!

 what you'll see at the science fair!

Seeking volunteers to enrich the lives of our students!

A group of parents and staff are working on revitalizing after school enrichment opportunities for our students. We are asking for your help. If you would like to share a a talent or skill with our students, we would like to know!

We are seeking community members to teach a 4 or 5 week session from 2:20pm-3:45 pm in March, April or May.

We are starting out small with the hope that we can increase offerings and participation over time. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Sally, Alison or Kristin.

Science Fair Date CHANGED

Hello Brewster-Pierce Families,
Due to a conflict for many scientists, we are changing the date of the 3rd Annual BPMS Science Fair to 
** MONDAY, FEBRUARY 9th, 5:30-6:30 pm **
We are making this change in order to include the maximum number of scientists presenting projects on this evening. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may 'cause.
